We tried a new restaurant that made its way from Norman to Edmond...Mama Veca...Peruvian & Mexican food?!? Sounds like a weird combo but its really not at all. *Peruvian cuisine stems mainly from the combination of Spanish cuisine with traditional native Peruvian ingredients. When we pulled up we were hesitant at first because it looked tiny & in a strip center. But when we walked in it was actually larger than it looks and pretty nice! We were greeted with chips, salsa and queso like other Mexican restaurants in the area. Jeremy had a tex-mex dish - I went out on a limb and tried Picante de Mariscos - sauteed shrimp, mussels & calamari in a yellow pepper sauce. the sauce was amazing!!! Can't wait to go back and try another peruvian dish!
