SCUBA!

Last month for our 2 year anniversary we gifted to each other scuba certification class. It was quite the process: 1 day class room, 2 days training in pool, 2 days training in open water but the certification is for life! We felt quite the accomplishment when it was all said and done. It definitely takes some getting used to breathing underwater but our instructor made us feel so comfortable & safe.

Our open water portion was at Lake Tenkiller - about 2 hours east of OKC. I had never been there before, it was beautiful with clear water (as clear as lake water can get)

Gearing up - you always dive with a partner who is always near and helps you get your gear on too! :)

HERE WE GO!

Our dive class combined with another group & 2 instructors. Our instructor was Eric - on the far right.We saw lots of bass, perch (who would follow you around), catfish and a sunken school bus and plane!

After day 1 of open water dive we went on a little nature drive....

Fall was in the air...or should I say water...

we came across a water snake!!!

and a roadrunner.

We brought Sid too because he loves the being at the lake - he looks so happy in this pic!

That night at our cabin we made a campfire & enjoyed some s'mores!

YAY we are finished & certified divers!! It was so fun doing this together as a couple and cant wait to go on our next dive! Thanks to Lindsay & Jeff for not only getting us interested with all their fun pics from their dive trips but helping us find a wonderful dive shop & answering many questions along the way!  

Since you cant talk underwater you learn an array of hand signals...this signal "OK" is used the most underwater.
