Ghirardelli Square

Once a chocolate factory in the 1800s established by “Domingo” Ghirardelli. In the 1960's manufacturing operation was sold and unique shops and restaurants were created within the old factory. The Square also offers a total of 53 one-, two- and three-bedroom vacation residence with views of the San Francisco Bay. How cool would that be to have a vacation home in a chocolate factory! In 1982 the owners applied for and were granted National Historic Register status, a move that ensured the preservation of Ghirardelli Square for future generations.

At the Chocolate Shop we were given our own Ghirardelli chocolate square to sample. They were so good - Jeremy ended up buying a HUGE sack full of assorited chocolates. We laughed at first but we ended up snacking on them our whole trip!
Next we ventured in to the Ghirardelli Ice Cream store to indulge in Hot Fudge Sundaes, see Jeremy's big sunday above! You can also view the original chocolate manufacturing equipment here as well.
I think these silly guys got a sugar high!
