Cake Balls

Cake balls are all the rave these days and I decided to try them out for an OU watch party. I did 2 different kinds; red velvet with cream cheese icing covered in white chocolate and vanilla cake with butter cream covered in red chocolate for OU colors! They are bite size and easy to pop in your mouth! Got to watch out easy to get carried away! I thought the red velvet would be the big hit but the favorite was the white cake - more moist as well.

Here are the ingredients:
Boxed Cake Mix
Icing of choice
Chocolate Wafers (found at Hobby Lobby) and/or Almond Bark from grocery store

Prepare the cake mix according to package directions using any of the recommended pan sizes.

When cake is done, crumble while warm into a large bowl
and stir in the frosting until well blended.

Next form the cake mixture into balls, place on cookie sheet then into the freezer to form.
see photo below

I didn't take a photo of this...next melt chocolate coating in a glass bowl in the microwave or in a pan on the stove top on low until smooth.
Roll cake balls in the melted chocolate and set a side to harden, which happens pretty fast. Place them on serveware and they are done & ready to eat!
I will tell you that I thought it would be easier than it was. It was very time consuming! especially doing 2 batches. I would recommend doing just 1 for your first try or grab a friend & some wine and have fun!

BOOMER SOONER!
