The following is from a recent article on Grandpa and how his churches, orphanages, and schools in Haiti are doing. Again, if you are able to donate any amount to Grandpa's Missionary Outreach you would be helping out tremendously and also knowing where your money is going makes it even better. These children & families will benefit greatly.
Missionaries to Haiti: Wayne & Karen Ray
Earthquake Update
January 18 2010: Following is the information that Rev. Wayne has received from Bro Marcel and others in Haiti.
- Good Shepherd Orphanage which was is home to 60 girls lost one young girl. The building itself is still standing but it is in need of some repair. The children are not staying in the building for fear, as Haiti is still experiencing some lively tremors.
- Morning Star Orphanage which is in an area that was hit very hard by the quake and is home to 26 very young children is still standing. Bro Wayne was very excited to hear that all of the little children here were safe.
- Church near the Good Shepherd Orphanage which seats 600 is still standing although it too is in need of some repair.
- The newest church that was built which seats 1000, was a total loss. Several other smaller churches were also lost.
- A church that seats 600 in the jungle is a total loss.
- Still awaiting word from the areas of St. Mark and Jacmel, where the mission has several churches, a school and orphanage.
- Have not yet heard how the 2-story church near the airport has fared.
Although disappointed in the losses Rev. Wayne expressed great thankfulness that the loss of life wasn't any greater in their orphanages. He asked that folks continue to pray for Haiti.

Ray's Missionary Outreach, Inc. was formed in October 1979 to work in the country of Haiti.
Haiti is the western third of the island of Hispaniola with the Dominican Republic making up the other two thirds and is located around 1,000 miles southeast of Miami, Florida. Haiti is the poorest nation in the western hemisphere and has a population of approximately eight million people.
Haiti is the oldest black republic. About 95% of Haitians are of African origin and the remaining 5% are mulatto and other races.
Our goal is to establish and support churches, orphanages, schools and feeding programs. As of now, we have several churches/schools and four orphanages set up from which we sponsor children.
